In your case something like:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(format #f "mystring ~a" 1)
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
so your snippet should be more like:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(map (cut format #f "quake3-latest-pk3s/baseq3/pak~a.pk3"
<>)
(iota 8 1))
