This may be a FAQ, but let's ask once more ;-):
I'm looking for _detailed_ instructions for building the Hurd on
FreeBSD. I'm seeking hints to compile at least the following
sources, taken directly from CVS:
* mig
* gnumach (opt. oskit-gnumach)
* glibc
* hurd
I'm relatively inexperienced in cross-compiling, so please be patient
with me. I know that there is some cheap cross-compiler in a debian package
somewhere. No idea where it is and if it will work on non-Linux systems
at all. Any help appreciated.
I'm using a recent GNU chain consisting of:
gcc-2.95.2
binutils-2.10
gmake-3.79
gawk-3.0.4
[...]
which was able to compile Flux' OSKit and L4Ka without any problems
on FreeBSD. Switching to Linux for this is currently not an option
for me, neither building natively on the Hurd.
Thanks for your help,
-Farid.
