I am using The easy guide to installing Hurd on a Linux box -
You mean GNU/Hurd and GNU/Linux, Linux is only a kernel.

You should see the http://www.debian.org/ports/hurd for instructions
on how to install Debian GNU/Hurd.
I am trying to dedicate a 1.2 gb HD to Hurd using Knoppix. I have
a K7N2 MB AMD 2500+ 1 gb RAM.
You need to tell grub that you have less than ~700 megs of ram, since
GNU Mach gets confused. See the info manual for grub for details.
