gnumach vs gnumach-1-branch

Hello,

At http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/gnumach-download.html there
are two choices when downloading the gnumach source code:

Source tree:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/hurd co
gnumach

Use to following to get the GNU Mach 1 branch:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/hurd co
-r gnumach-1-branch gnumach

What are the differences between them?
