Hi, On Thu, Apr 03, 2008 at 12:26:53AM +0200, zhengda wrote:#boot -d ~/sub-hurd -I ~/sub-hurd/boot/servers.boot /dev/hd1s1But I got a error: /hurd/ext2fs.static: hd1s1: Gratuitous error. Can anyone tell what this error means?I don't know what the error really means, but I think the command line you use is wrong. Maybe you meant -D rather than -d ? But in either case, normally you don't need that. (To be honest, I don't even really know what that option does exactly...) See http://www.bddebian.com/~wiki/hurd/subhurd/ for a short howto on running subhurds. -antrik-
Sorry, I made a mistake when I typed the command. The original command is #boot -D ~/sub-hurd -I ~/sub-hurd/boot/servers.boot /dev/hd1s1 Thank you for your document. I have solved the problem.Actually, the problem is that servers.boot which I used for subhurd cannot run subhurd.
After I copied the one in the howto, subhurd can run on my machine now. Thank you. Best, Zheng Da
