Checked - there are none.  But, I don't want to turn this into Windows 
discussion - this is off-topic.  If there is no problem with my understanding 
of make, then I will find some windows newsgroup to ask there, the question of 
what happens when you do >> many times in quick succession, waiting for one to 
exit before issuing another.
