No reply has yet appeared, probably because you're asking a question
specific to the Linux kernel project, not GNU Make. This list isn't about
specific projects' uses of Make, but about Make itself. i.e. Make doesn't
know what a .ko file is, nor how they should be built, whereas the Linux
kernel guys and gals do. The compile error you are seeing is specific to
the Linux kernel code. i suggest directing your question to a Linux kernel
forum/list.
