[Help-nano] SUN bug |

hi there, a while ago i submitted a bug for nano on SUN. unfortunately it was
archived in the now deleted part of the archive
the bug can be demonstrated thusly:
if i open up an empty file and type in, say
abcdefghijk
and then return to the beginning of the line, and pressed space 5 times... i
would expect to see
abcdefghijk
but instead i see
abcdefghijk
(an extra space is displayed on the screen but not in the file after every space
i move)
i have now found what the cause of this bug is, and it has to do with TERM
settings. i use aterm, which uses TERM=rxvt. the bug disappears if i use
TERM=xterm. but i wonder why this happens as the rxvt terminal itself works
fine, and aterm is a pretty well debugged program.
however, even allowing TERM=xterm to be a valid workaround, it brings with it
many more bugs... namely that newly created blank spaces are the foreground
green colour and not the background colour.
does anyone have any ideas how i could fix all this? its very frustrating!
cheers,
Sam
