Problem with def_prog_mode

Hi guys,
  I have got a problem with the curses. I used def_prog_mode() to temporarily leave the curses mode and run another program from there ,
like an a.out. After the program finishes execution I do the reset_prog_mode() and come back to the curses mode.
  Now I want to get back the information that was printed on the screen while the a.out was run.
  How can I do it?
