	In the latest release of OSX (10.2.1), a number of things broke under 
fink, so updates to fink and some of the fink installed software is 
needed if you are running 10.2.x. Readline, in particular was broken 
under 10.2, so a new 10.2 specific update was released. From the error 
message you posted, I suspect this may be the problem. Sourceforge has 
the details of what you need to do to get the latest fink. It is not 
difficult, but one needs to be aware of 10.1.x vs 10.2.x issues. 
However, before you launch down that path, a little more info would be 
useful.

#1      Which OSX are you running 10.1.x or 10.2.x?

#2      Which developer's tools/compiler are you using?

#3      Which fink release are you using?
