backslash before undescore on plots

Hello,

doing this:

octave:3> figure(1)
octave:4> set_title("foo_bar", "Interpreter", "none");
error: `set_title' undefined near line 4 column 1
octave:4> set(title("foo_bar"), "Interpreter", "none");
labels =
{
  [1,1] = foo\_bar
}
octave:5>   
"

on my plot window I see

foo\_bar

as title - rather than the expected foo_bar which I used to see in octave-3.4.*.

Is it supposed to be this (with backslash) way ?
