Oct version of Mex Object Handle

Hello.

I need to pass objects to/from octave to C++. Until now I have been 
using mex files for the C++/octave interface, and I have been using Mex 
Object Handle for this.

Now I am moving towards oct-files. Is there a similar utility for 
oct-files? Or is there a better way to interact between octave and C++?
