My SuSE is rusty. Did zypper look like it worked? I think you need to
add a repo then "zypper in" the package. You can use the YaST GUI too.
>From within octave, if you "pkg list", what do you see? If the package
is listed, but does not have "*" after the name, then it is installed
but not loaded.
