Can you build from src.rpm?
If you have the rpmbuild environment on your system, you could download
the fedora 17 src.rpm for Octave 3.6.3 and do " rpmbuild -- rebuild
~/rpmbuild/SRPMS/xxx.src.rpm".
You might have to install a few dependencies.
The alternate approach is to upgrade your fedora to 17 or 18 and simply
download the binary from the fedora repos.
