Could you please suggest in that page that people first attempt to
install the octave-octcdf rpm or deb packages from their distros
instead of compling from source? Or to first look for binary packages
for Windows or use a Mac OS X package manager like fink or macports?
Clinton is apparently unfamiliar with building software and doesn't
appear to be aware of the required software (compilers and libraries).
A binary installation would probably be easier for him.
