Dear all,I'm posting to both lists since I am not sure which one is better suited.I tried to install octave 3.6.2 and 3.6.1 Visual Studio builds: http://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/files/Octave%20Windows%20binaries/Octave%203.6.2%20for%20Windows%20Microsoft%20Visual%20Studio/octave-3.6.2-vs2010-setup.exe/download and http://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/files/Octave%20Windows%20binaries/Octave%203.6.1%20for%20Windows%20Microsoft%20Visual%20Studio/According to their README files several packages (72) are included (see also http://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/files/Octave%20Windows%20binaries/Octave%203.6.2%20for%20Windows%20Microsoft%20Visual%20Studio/) however after the installation finished, for both of the two versions the only package installed is "java" (found by executing "pkg list" and double checking folder Octave-3.6.2\share\octave\packages)Why are 70+ packages missing? How can I install them? There is no specific comment in the wiki on this (http://wiki.octave.org/Octave_for_Windows#Octave_with_Visual_Studio) so I assume they should be included and are excluded by mistake? What is the last working version? The packages are not missing. But you simply need to select the packages you want to install in the component selection page (during the installation process). There is a section for octave forge packages, expand it and select the packages you want.Note that installed packages are not auto-loaded. You still need to load the packages to use them.Michael.
