Hello Marco, Thank you for replying so quickly. Octave plot renders even large vectors quickly enough for quick visualization, providing an important service. Rendering the zoom shading is slow when it covers many points, only a minor inconvenience. But, the main problem is that after the initial rendering, the next graphic operation, whether moving the figure or rendering another figure, usually causes the plot window to become gray. Moving the cursor over the figure changes the cursor coordinates, despite the lack of a displayed graph. Getting the figure to redisplay requires some operation on the figure, such as autoscale, zoom, or grid toggle. Doing this often causes another displayed figure to turn gray, particularly for large vectors. Any suggestions?
