Francis,

As discussed in the other thread, the Fink build of Octave is currently broken, 
and it's quite unlikely that you'll be able to get any test to work until we 
manage 
to debug it.

In the meantime, a temporary workaround might be for you to switch from Fink to 
MacPorts.
