Installing ODEPKG

I am having trouble installing ODEPKG. It always ends with this error:


pkg: error running `make' for the odepkg package.
error: called from 'configure_make' in file /usr/local/share/octave/4.1.0+/m/pkg/private/configure_make.m near line 89, column 9
error: called from:
error:   /usr/local/share/octave/4.1.0+/m/pkg/private/install.m at line 199, column 5
error:   /usr/local/share/octave/4.1.0+/m/pkg/pkg.m at line 384, column 9


I installed with pkg install -forge odepkg and Googled for a solution, but there was nothing that can help me make more progress. 


Can anyone help me?
