What version of octave?How was octave installed? MacPorts, Homebrew or Fink?What octave package(s) are you trying to install?Marius--Marius Schamschula
Or did you install Octave by some other means, such as a standalone binary or building it yourself from source? Some of the Octave Forge packages require patching to build at all on OS X, and just using Octave’s “pkg install” won’t do the job.
