Hello Tatsuro, thank you for your reply. I tried the command you mentioned and this is what I got: WARNING: The locate database (/var/db/locate.database) does not exist. To create the database, run the following command: sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.locate.plist Please be aware that the database can take some time to generate; once the database has been created, this message will no longer appear. On the other hand, I believe I know where the executable file octave-cli is, but when I go to that directory in the terminal and type ‘octave’ or 'octave-cli’, this does not start octave ('command not found').
