Little wonder, if you've read my post carefully.
Yesterday I tried to instal the github version of the video package. I first
had to build ffmpeg, that was not w/o the usual hickups. I have 64-bit
Octave builds and needed to manually insert an "-fPIC"flag here and there.
The video package then compiled fine but failed at link time, looks like
something simple with the compile/link flags. Unfortunately I ran out of
time. Yet the fact that the compiles went fine looks promising.
That's about all I can do ATM, I have no more time for this specific subject
until maybe late August.
However you can try yourself, it isn't all that difficult, and ask here if
you get stuck.
