Function names, same as return value ?

Dear All

 

            I am converting a lot of ‘legacy’ Fortran functions to Octave.  In Fortran the return value of a function and the function name are the same.  It would be useful if I could do the same for my Octave functions.  Is there any reason why I should not do this?
