Those warnings are due to the fact that Octave sticks -pthread into the compiler lines. Don’t worry about them until Apple decides to make that a fatal error. If you use mkoctfile from the 4.0.1 install that will install everything appropriately. If you install fink’s octave382-atlas-qtmac-dev package you’ll just need to check which mkoctfile that you are using for your own builds. -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D.
