And please update that wiki with anything new you learn!
You might try launching Octave directly from the short cut (start menu),
instead of a "pinned" task bar icon.
I think I saw this "messed-up" PATH problem when Octave was pinned:
maybe octave.bat doesn't run properly or something in that case. But
take with a grain of salt as I only tried it once on Windows.
