Beginner Help Request

This code is buggy.  Why?  What am I doing?

ans = input ("Press Enter to End");

x = 1*10^-25;

p = 1*10^-25;

x = A \ b;

printf ("Hello, world!\n"); 

ans = input ("Press Enter to End");

Trying to write a file notepad and then run it.
