​I guess colormap wants to have at least two rows... If you replace yor colormap

statement with

colormap([0,0,0; 0,0,0])

everything seems to be working fine.

​Changing that to

​colormap(0.7*[1,1,1; 1,1,1]);

(changing black to gray)

may be more aesthetically pleasant -- otherwise mesh looks to dark for me.
