installing octave 4.2.0

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 on my 32 bit machine.
I have installed octave 4.0.0 from the default ubuntu repositories.
I use control, ocs and instrument-control packages with the above
installation.
I want to install new version octave 4.2.0 on /opt which is on separate
partition so that I can use both simultaneously.
I have downloaded the sources.
Please guide me how to have two installations simultaneously.
