hash appears to be in the io package. I have that installed already, but if
you don't, then type:
pkg install -forge io
then
pkg load io
and try it again. I get:
>> pkg load io
>> hash('md2', "foo")
ans = d11f8ce29210b4b50c5e67533b699d02
