how to launch octave after fink install

Hi,

I installed octave on my Mac (High Sierra 10.13.2).

I did that with the command:
*  fink install octave-atlas-qtx11

The installation took more than 20 hours, but eventually completed.

But now I'm stuck with (extract from my Mac terminal window)
$ pwd
/sw2/bin
$ octave
-bash: octave: command not found

note that my fink directory is sw2

So here is my naive question(s):
what do I do from here ?
More packages to be installed ?
scripts to be run ?
Entries to be added to a path file ?

Thanks for your help.
Apologies if this post was already answered many times before. Just point me
to the right place.
I'm reasonably knowledgeable in octave, but a newbie in mac. Thanks for
answering me with simple words, like if it were your grandmother :-)
