it's possible to plot a figure inside another figure?

hf = figure; 
hax1(1) = subplot(2, 1, 1, "parent", hf); 
plot(hax1(1), 1:2); 

hax1(2) = subplot(4, 1, 3, "parent", hf); 
plot(hax1(2), 1:2); 

hax1(3) = subplot(4,1,4 , "parent", hf); 
plot(hax1(3), 1:2);
