imcrop Not Showing Crop Area

I am using imcrop to grab a portion of an image for analysis.  However when the plot shows up to select the area to crop, I never get a cross hairs and I don’t see a rectangle to show what I am cropping down to.  I can click twice and it will crop but it is difficult to know what I’m cropping.

 

I’m using Win10, running Octave 4.2.1, with image 2.6.1

 

Do you have any idea why I don’t see the selecting rectangle or have a work around where I can select an area without imcrop and just use the values to do imcrop directly?
