Which way of installation did you use (exe installer or zip file)? Which
version did you install? 5.2.0? 5.2.0_1? 32bit or 64bit?
Where did you download the installer?
I just uploaded the "octave-gui.exe" file I have on my machine (5.2.0
installer, 64bit) to VirusTotal. None of the scanners complained (that includes
Avast):
