OF THE SHARING OF BURDENS AND THE CLEANSING OF ALL SOULS.
BUT HAVING ENDURED THE SUFFERING OF THE BODY, NOW IS ITS SOUNDNESS A JOYUNTO HIM IN ITSELF.
And as he worketh uponit, so doth it begin to shine with a brightness greater than all thoseothers. YET BYREASON OF THE BURDENS THAT MAN MUST BEAR MAY HE FORGET THIS.
But to us that were about Him would He never Counsel that weshould learn to make such music. Unto such would He have said: CONTINUE AS YE BE. FOR I AM LIFE:AND SO IS MY FATHER AND SO IS THE SPIRIT THAT COMETH AFTER ME.
For neverdid I hear the Christ speak of that time as if it were a day as the daysin your world. For until he hath come into a full realization of himself shall the soulof man not be complete. BUT AS FOR THAT BINDING WHICH YE HAVE MADEALREADY, THIS IS A BINDING OF THE BODY ALONE.
He would say: THIS THAT IS GIVEN UNTO ME IS AS AN EVILDREAM THAT PASSETH IN THE NIGHT.
FOR THE LAWS WHICH YEHAVE SET UP ARE NOT THE LAWS OF GOD BUT THE LAWS OF MAN. BUT YE THAT BE IN ANGER ARE AS THE FIRES THAT MAY CATCH AFIELD IN A HEAVY SUN. For in the land ofJudea in our day, nought but the ceremony could make a marriage. Peter, and after that shall I give you the story ofJames. So shall he see the folly of his life and his own blindness. He would say to them: IF YE ARE MARRIED YEHAVE FORMED A BOND OF YOUR OWN FREE WILL.
YE KNOW NOTWHAT YE SPEAK WHEN YE ARE MOVED TO SING. BUT HAVING ENDURED THE SUFFERING OF THE BODY, NOW IS ITS SOUNDNESS A JOYUNTO HIM IN ITSELF. And the Christ was kneeling upon the ground afar off, with handsstretched out unto the heavens. And He meaneth that the land wherein He taughtshould be held in greatest honour by all men.
YE KNOW THAT IN A SHORTTIME THERE WILL BE NOUGHT BUT A SMALL HEAP OF DUST.
But for such did He counselthe gaining of strength.
