gettext uses LANG and LC_* to find message catalogs. How?

Apply a similar algorithm to info.

man also seems to do it right... unfortunately, I'm on a rather
broken slackware box right now :/  (I'm on holidays in brasil,
meeting lots of local compuyter nerds, hehe)
