[help-texinfo] rms-essays

Please forgive me and correct me if this is the wrong
list to post this question.

I have obtained rms-essays by doing

cvs -z3 -d:ext:address@hidden:/cvsroot/rms-essays co rms-essays

however, the directory did not contain a README that
I could follow to make the info files.

I tried doing

cd rms-essays/
makeinfo rms-essays.texi

producing a _lot_ of errors

I tried doing

cd rms-essays/
make

I tried doing

cd rms-essays/
make all

I either obtained a fresh copy of the directory or did

make distclean

in between attempts. All attempts produced errors from the start.

What am I doing wrong? Anyone installed these?
