Hello,
I am kind of newbie to VCD's, so bear with me :)
I have a Sensory Science DVR-5000 (DVD/VCR/MP3/VCD combo)
<http://www.govideo.com/bdyDVR5000.htm> and I have made a 2 vcd using
vcdimager version 0.6.2, the content is a ~75M Mpeg file that is
352x288/25fps. One is a vcd 2.0 and the other is a 1.1 (I know, that
resolution is not listed as a supported one in the 1.1 description, but
I was testing), both play fine on my computer using xine 0.4.3
<http://xine.sourceforge.net>, but not on my home DVD system. It plays
them as if they are audio cd's, with silence. Is this a problem with my
home system or am I doing something wrong? The manual says in the
specifications that it supports CD-Video, and the front display has
LCD's for VCD and SVCD. I used cdrdao 1.1.3 to burn the disks on an
HP-7200+ (newest firmware) drive with the following command:
$ cdrdao write --device 0,0,0 --speed 2 -v 1 videocd.cue
I am on a 350MHz PII, running RedHat 7.1, with their stock 2.4.2-2
kernel, using a vcdimager 0.6.2 rpm from hvrlab.org (just for the
record) .
Just wanting to make sure if it my stuff or if I did something wrong. I
will be more than happy to give more information, or work on vcdimager
in my free time to include my model in the "Success Reports". I am sure
that my DVD player is the culprit, I have already found bugs in the MP3
player :). Unfortunately I do not have another VCD to test....
