[VCDImager] How to do the vcd/svcd trick in linux |

My dvd-player does not know how to handle svcds. However, it can play
vcds with an mpeg2-file that has a mpeg1-header. To create such a file,
the programm tmpgenc can be used under windows (this is called the
vcd/svcd trick).
Recently I have switched to linux and could not find a program that can
do this header-trick under linux. The program should read an mpeg2-file,
change only the header to mpeg1 and then save it to another name. The
next step will then be to use vcdimager to create a vcd image and the burn it.
Can anyone give me a hint how to do this trick in linux?
Juergen
