[VCDImager] Problems creating svcd from mpegs

Hello,

I have a big problem creating a svcd from mpges.

When I do for example:

vcdimager --iso-volume-label="TEST" uksmokin.mpg

I get the following error:

INFO: scanning mpeg sequence item #0 for scanpoints...
++ WARN: mpeg scan: pack header code (0x000001ba) expected, but 0x52494646 
found (buflen = 2324)
++ WARN: ...this looks like a RIFF header but a plain multiplexed program 
stream was required.
**ERROR: input mpeg stream has been deemed invalid -- aborting


The mpg-File is converted from .avi via mencoder.

What could be the Problem?
I googled for several hours, but found no answer.

what can I do?
