I'm trying to construct a set of hierarchical menus for an SVCD using
vcdimager.
Unfortunately, I've discovered that on my DVD player, pressing a number button
while a <selection> node is being displayed results in a little dialogue box
appearing on the screen which prompts me to type in a two-digit number and
press ENTER.
What I would really like is for an action to be performed immediately when I
press one of the number buttons; I want just ten choices, 0 to 9. I assume
this isn't possible; can anyone prove otherwise?
And, as a matter of interest, how *do* different DVD players handle the
numeric selection buttons? Is my player weird? I found the combination lock
example menu (http://www.vcdimager.org/guides/combination_lock.html); this
would work very oddly on my player, so I assume other players do things a bit
differently.
If I switched to using miniDVD rather than SVCD, could I do what I want?
