Sounds alright to me. I think some effort should be put into trying to
fix the unstable filter/reverb combo problem. I posted a SoundFont to
the list that sets it off real easy (I realized later that you don't
even need to tweak the default reverb settings, it will still occur).
I've looked over this several times to try and figure out whats going
on, but since the fres variable in the voice write routine seems to get
clamped correctly, I can't figure out where the values are going out of
bounds. You don't need Swami to test this, just loud my test SoundFont
play some notes, you'll see.. This problem also seems to be related to
the reverb 100% CPU consumption problem as well, so perhaps solving the
filter will fix that one too.

Has anyone even confirmed this? This problem is fairly critical for live
performance, and a bit scary since I'd hate to blast an audience with
maximum kaaaabooomb followed by white noise, uggghh. Its real easy to do
when modulating stuff with MIDI controls.

One minor thing is that I still think the ALSA sequencer should be the
default MIDI driver. Perhaps we don't need to change its name or
anything, just keep it "alsa_seq" for compatibility with current scripts
and the like and then maybe change "alsa" to "alsa_raw". It will make
things that much more user friendly to first time FluidSynth users.
Friendlyness often determines whether someone will use a program long
enough to realize its capabilities.

Sorry about posting these 2 issues several times, but I think they are
both important, and I have received very little in reply (again, not
anyones fault, just explaining the multiple posts). Its exciting that
FluidSynth 1.0 will be released soon :) The current released versions of
Swami/iiwusynth have many issues that its easy to forget when using the
development versions. I'll release a version of the "stable" Swami
branch soon after the FluidSynth release. Cheers.
