XBoard 4.1.0 error on "make install"

Hi, I am attempting to "make install" XBoard 4.1.0 on Compaq Tru64 Unix 4.0F
(with the latest patch kit installed).

1. configure and make worked fine with noe reported errors.
2. make install reported:
        sh: install-info: not found
        *** Exit 1 (ignored)
    at which point the make install stopped.

Hoping it had actually worked I tried running /usr/local/bin/xboard and a
window did appear but promptly vanished and the command line displayed the
following error:

X Error of failed request: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter).

Any help would be appreciated.  I did have an older version of gnuchess
running happily with xboard 3.x but thought I'd bring them uptodate.
