When I enter a date in the future to reserve a book - since there are select 
boxes for me to choose to "Reserve on this date:"
the next - output page - cgi-bin/koha/opac-user.pl shows todays date as being 
the reserve date.

Now maybe the intent was not to reserve a book on a future date but enter 
todays date - but if any date is returned as todays (it returns today if I 
reserve a book in the past) why have the patron select a date?
