Follow-up Comment #1:

I've committed some patches to trunk to prevent annoyingly-named groups from
being created. Still need to test, copy the patch to stable, and clean up
existing annoying groups.

Currently these consist of:

* lower-case 'cc' -- needs to be deleted from Groups and Group_Members
tables.
* 'GNU/Linux' -- should also be deleted from both tables
* 'new' -- should also be deleted from both tables
* 'Manic Street Preachers' -- maybe just rename this in both tables,
replacing spaces with underscores.

Can't make those changes myself as I don't have database access.
