Agreed, we should definitely do RSS and iCal. The tricky part is data entry. Could we have a shared git repo where we can manually update the RSS/iCal using shell scripts or from a dump from Evolution or some other calendar app?

It would help integrate LibrePlanet Ontario into the local tech scenes across the province. We can give a prominent position to events that are explicitly free software oriented. I think being inclusive on this is fine since we aren't advocating attending proprietary software meetups.
For example we can list angularjs meetups safely because it's MIT licensed and there's no proprietary software being promoted at the meetups. An iPhone dev group wouldn't be listed at all because it promotes proprietary software and hardware.
