Every once in a while I take a few minutes to search for FLOSS
alternatives to meetup.com / eventbrite.com or similar services.

This time around I found OpenMeetup (main instance running at
http://www.meetupedia.com, code at
https://github.com/meetupedia/OpenMeetup). If anyone is interested in
testing it or if you have any comments about it, I'd like to hear them
on this list.

I created one group with one week-long testing event if you don't feel
like creating dummy data there:
