pretty much any computer made in the last 20 years can run a
(mostly) free OS such as ubuntu - i dont think the question
would have been asked for an answer like: "this one comes with
linux installed" - i think the question was more specifically:
"where can one get a computer that has a 100% libre OS
pre-installed and ready to use?"
the answer to that question is a very short list; and the list
of computers that are known to be capable of running on 100% free
software, including the boot firmware, is just as small - the
list of shops that i offered was not merely a selection of
suggestions; but _the_ comprehensive list of every shop that i
am aware (online or real world) of where such a computer can be
consistently found - if anyone knows of other shops, do let me
know - i would like to add it to that list
for completeness, i will add that the computers to watch for the
near future are the EOMA68 and the talos II - the EOMA68 will
ship with the choice of OS, including parabola or trisquel - the
talos II does not have a 100% free OS yet; but there is a
proof-of-concept parabola system - parabola and others may
support that computer in time
