I'm sorry folks. I had completely misunderstood what this group and there meetings were about. I thought these were free software hackfests in which everyone met in a computer lab like the famed MIT AI lab uncle Stallmizzle used to kick it at.

Instead, if I am understanding correctly, this is just an arbitrary location for some people to meet up and hang out while having a couple of beers maybe. So is this an activist meetup? Like minded people just shooting the shit?

I guess I'm just trying to figure out where I fit in here. After just being an FSF supporter for 6 years, I was hoping to a)start doing some activism myself and b) learn from some senior developers so I can transition into a full time software development career.

Sorry I know I write a lot and people on this list seem terse. Just trying to feel it out.

Elysian is a brew pub and beer hall and is basically a normal
restaurant with a good beer selection. It's not the kind of place you
would arrange for a screening.
