The DFD site is awesome with a lot of resources
https://documentfreedom.org/
and their get involved page
https://documentfreedom.org/getinvolved.en.html

I just saw on the DFD events around the world Map, DFD seattle was
added; did you put that on Lee?

Again, transportation is a little difficult for me, so I may have to
start a seperate day in Lake Forest Park/North Seattle Area, as
others seem to have DFD in several cities of a state.

On the events page I saw the following:

DFD Seattle in Seattle, United States of America
25 March 2015 organized by DFD Seattle

We're trying to organize something in Seattle, no specfic plan yet. If
you have ideas, please email me. (We already have a promo pack being
sent to us.)

I assume that is you, lee? If not it doesn't list an email address.

> "have talks or give an award or have a party"

we could give an award to freegeek-sea, libreplanet-WA, riseup? these
are local organizations who have pushed for document freedom. It seems
like they basically had a template framed and gave it to open street
maps in the example.

As to the party thing, maybe we could have snacks at our event like
bread and fruits. people love food.

> ODF talks

I don't but Robinson Tyron gave one to libreplanet 2015 which is
available via livestream, and possibly slides too. I could ask him for
his speech, which could be easily modifyable. I don't think we have to
do something super formal as the document freedom foundation seems to
mainly focus on end users.

We can do something later too. The first document day was on the 26th.
When is the next April LibrePlanet meeting? I haven't been to one but
I saw somewhere it says the next one is in august. What is LFNW?

Doesn't Free-Geek-Sea have a meeting in seattle this week? maybe
document freedom can be discussed.

we could even meet just the libreplanet folks.

We could also setup a info booth
https://blogs.fsfe.org/franz.gratzer/2013/03/
like this case study for a few hours if the tempertaure is nice

Perhaps we can print templates, do you have any? They have brochures
and posters to print
https://documentfreedom.org/artwork.en.html#printed

Maybe we could get journalists interested.

What other free software programs exist in seattle area?
Others include seattle-privacy..

I would like other opinions too.
