Thank you for the notes!

I think mesh networks are exciting, but I also think the plan being
proposed here is unclear. In addition, although some of the issues
mentioned in the meeting notes and on the LibrePlanet wiki [1] may be
important, they don't seem closely related to software freedom.
Therefore, I'm afraid I wouldn't feel comfortable helping to advocate
for this plan at this time.

I'd love to help organize and run a "crypto party". However, I've never
participated in one before (not even a key signing party), so I'd feel
more comfortable helping someone who has done it before.

I think we should organize our own event(s) while we simultaneously
looking into existing organizations/meetings where we might be able to
help. I'll check to see what sort of events are happening in the area
and send an email later with what I find. Has anyone else already
searched for these, or reached out to TA3M?

At the very least, it would be nice to exchange PGP keys with the rest
of you (assuming I'm not the only one using GnuPG/PGP). I propose that
we do a PGP key signing at the next meeting. Would others be interested
in that? If someone wants to propose even more stuff, please speak up!
I'm happy starting with something as simple as that for now, since like
I said, I haven't done it before.

I think this might eventually be a good idea, after we know more about
what we want to do at these "crypto parties". It might be a good way to
reach out to members of the community who want to learn more about how
to protect their privacy but aren't sure how to do it. It might also
provide a good opportunity to highlight the advantages of free software.
